AMCExpo Sunday Afternoon
Went to the talk by Richard Arnold about The Cage which was the first pilot for Star Trek.
Then a talk by some of the authors attending the event about the options for self publishing. Some don't like e-books and prefer physical books and the options for print on demand that now exist.
Then a talk with Daniel Davis (Professor Moriaty - STNG, The Nanny), Richard Arnold and Michael Bell (Grappler Zorn - STNG Pilot) who talked about their Star Trek Experiences and general acting questions.
Then to the Q&A that I looking forward to Col. Rick Searfoss who talked about his experience as an astronaut on three shuttle missions and his background. He also talked about being a technical consultant on the films Green Lantern and Oblivion. He is a really interesting speaker.
Decided to call it a day (4:15pm) and caught the train back into Melbourne. Wish Hobart had a passenger rail network. I always enjoy train travel.

Melbourne Ghost Tour
Had booked a ghost tour when I was in Melbourne in January but the company cancelled and I rebooked for this Sunday knowing I would be Melbourne for Supanova.
Quite interesting walking tour of Central Melbourne.
It finished at Melbourne Central Railway Station so I caught the train back to Southern Cross. Most remarkable thing is mobile phones work in the underground stations. I knew they were installing repeaters on the City Loop so phones would work.

Caught the train back to the city and got ready for the cocktail party on Saturday Night. The party was overall very good except for some loud music which made conversation harder.
Left the party about 10:30 and walked the short distance back to my hotel.

Supanova Melbourne Friday Opening Night
A short train ride to Flinders Street Station and then caught a tram out to the Showgrounds. They only run trains to the Showgrounds station on the Saturday and Sunday.
Bought the photo token for a Doctor Who/Torchwood group (John Leeson ,Naoko Mori, Burn Gorman and Gareth David-Lloyd).
Went to the opening ceremony which is just a introduction to the guests. After that the Doctor Who/Torchwood guest had a Q&A session.
There wasn't anything else on that evening so I caught a tram back to the city and then a train from Flinders Street to Southern Cross.

OZTrek 12
Had a great evening friday at the VIP party. The guests
were great to meet.
The Saturday events went smoothly starting with photo shoots with each guest and then the memorabilia auction. I didn't buy anything. All of the items I was interested got far to expensive.
Had lunch with the other VIP ticket holders.
Then on to the Q&A sessions in the afternoon.
First Connor who talked about his career.
Then Robert Picardo entertained us for an hour. He talked about becoming a board member for the Planetary Society.
Gate McFadden was asked a question about David Bowie. She had worked with him a film called Labyrinth as a choreographer.
We then had the chance to get our autographs. As it was a small event they moved us through row by row (I was in the third row).
Had a quick chat with the organiser to say thanks for a great day. I am sure I am going to go Supanova in Melbourne in April as they have some really good guests (Torchwood and Doctor Who).
That was the last activity for the day so walked back to my hotel.
Planning on having a quiet evening after a busy day.
- Gates McFadden (Dr Crusher STNG)
- Connor Trinneer (Enterprise)
- Robert Picardo (ST Voyager/Stargate)
were great to meet.
