So true. In the 1970s whenever I visited Space Age Books in Melbourne I would walk through the store picking up every book I wanted to buy, till I reached the back wall. Then I would walk back to the front of the store slowly, putting back each book that I decided I didn't really need. The plan was that by the time I got to the cash desk I would have reduced the pile of books to a reasonable size.
